Akko’s marina and fishing port sits at the southern edge of the Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, next to the ancient Pisan Harbour. The breakwater goes back to Phoenician times, and in the Crusader period this was the main gateway to the Holy Land.
Today the small basin is packed with fishing boats, dinghies and local yachts, and lined with seafood restaurants. From here you can take short boat rides along the sea walls and a pleasure boat across the bay to Haifa. It is a scenic stop or a day-trip destination rather than a full-service yacht base.
