Ashdod’s Blue Marina opened in 1999 in the Marina quarter, close to the city centre and between the city beaches. It has a near-circular basin with about 550 berths. The Ashdod-Yam shipyard on site has a 50-ton crane, a chandlery and an engine workshop, and there is also a surf and sailing club and a maritime school.

Yachts run coastal tours along the southern coastal plain, and the marina is a quieter, local alternative to the Tel Aviv area for day sailing. It is not a port of entry: arriving foreign yachts clear in at Ashkelon or Herzliya.
